Chewy (Nut-Free) Granola Bars
A super healthy granola bar … perfect for sports or just a tasty treat with your cup of tea!
(Warning: I did make this recipe up as i went so apologies if my measurements are a little out).
Alva's Chewy (Nut- Free) Granola Bars
Ingredients
200 grams oats
100 grams *wholemeal flour
100 grams *self raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
150 grams honey
2 tablespoons of butter (or coconut oil for dairy free)
100 grams of mixed seeds (I used sunflower and pumpkin)
3 large bananas mashed
*For Gluten Free Recipe - Swap flours for 200g of Doves Farm gluten free self raising flour and choose gluten free oats
Method
Mix all ingredients and press into a baking tray (1 inch thick) lined with baking paper. Bake at 190 degrees celcius for 20 minutes until edges are golden brown. After about 10 minutes of cooling, cut into small bars - don't remove from the tray until fully cooled. Makes 25.
