Breakfast Smoothie With A Protein Punch


Looking for a new breakfast idea.. and one that is both full of health boosting antioxidants and high in protein?  Well why not try this dairy free, protein packed berry smoothie with almond milk, almond butter, hemp seeds and chia seeds, all great protein sources and guaranteed to keep you fuller longer and high in energy for the whole morning. A great meal if you are following a paleo diet or have an allergy to dairy.  

Breakfast Smoothie With a Protein Punch

170 grams strawberries

240 mls plain unsweetened almond milk, or more as needed

170 grams frozen unsweetened mixed berries, such as raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, or more as needed

30 grams slivered almonds

2 tablespoons raw almond butter

2 tablespoons hemp seeds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

In a blender, start with the strawberries and almond milk and puree for 1 minute or until smooth. Add the frozen mixed berries and a little more of almond milk if it gets too thick/ Add the almonds, almond butter and hemp seeds and puree for 15 seconds. Finally the chia seeds and give it one last pulse. Smoothie should be smooth and thick. Serve and enjoy right away.
