How about a Turmeric Latte For a Health Kick?

Turmeric has become very popular as a healthy addition to our diet due to the phytochemical curcumin that prevents and neutralises free radicals and reduces inflammation in the body.

Turmeric has antibiotic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to protect the liver against toxins, help with circulation and lower cholesterol levels. Unfortunately curcumin is not easy for the body to absorb, so a great way to enjoy it, is in small quantities, using good-quality ground turmeric.

We can add turmeric to many recipes, but I wanted to share a recipe for the Turmeric Latte, a super healthy alternative to what you might pick up in the coffee shop!

Turmeric Latte

200 ml unsweetened almond milk
50 ml water
1/2  tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp raw honey

Place the milk, water, and spices in a pot and gently simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from the heat, strain it, let it cool slightly and then add honey.
