Honey Oat and Seed Scones
Healthy and delicious with that bit of sweetness that makes them perfect to eat on their own!
Ingredients
200 grams Oats
200 grams wholemeal flour
100 grams self-raising flour
3 tablespoons of sesame seeds
2 tablespoons of chia seeds (or other seeds)
2 teaspoons baking powder
100 grams butter
4 tablespoons of live natural yogurt
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons honey
Enough buttermilk to bring to a thick sloppy batter
Method
Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Place dry ingredient in a bowl and rub in butter until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add egg, yogurt, honey and mix. Add enough buttermilk to bring to a thick sloppy dough. With a large tablespoon, scoop heaped spoons of mixture onto a tray lined with baking paper. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of each scone. Sometimes I drizzle a little honey on top too! Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Makes about 15.
